My favourite subject this semester

My favourite subject this semester

Hello again! In this blog I will talk about the subject  that I liked the most this semester. Well it really is more than one, but I'll choose the Organic Chemistry. Although I didn’t do very well in tests, it's my favourite subject of the six subject I chose this semester.

This course is carried out by three teachers together: Carolina Jullian, Jacqueline Pezoa and Patricio Navarrete. In the classes, I enjoyed the most were those of Miss Pezoa and Mister Navarrete. Both do their classes in a very didactic, especially Mister Navarrete, he always put a little humor to their classes, making the way to learn the contents outside in a more fun.

In Organic we saw Nomenclature of Organic Compounds, Stereochemistry, Nucleophilic Substitution and Eliminations, the main reactions and synthesis of Alkanes, Alkenes and Aromatics and what we were seeing a couple of days ago, Infrared Spectroscopy (IR) and Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (‘H RMN).

In general I have always liked the branches of biology and chemistry, and despite having a subject of Cellular Physiology, the one that I liked the most was Organic, because the contents are entertaining, especially the reactions of Aromatic Compounds. However, like all courses, Organic also has some degree of complexity, but you just have to look for the way that the study is more entertaining and not something tedious.

An expert on Biochemistry

An expert on Biochemistry

Hello again!!, In this day I will talk about an expert in Biochemistry: Ramon Latorre.
Ramon Latorre was born in October 29, 1941
He studied in the Jose Victorino Lastarria High School. Subsequently, in 1965 he received a Biochemist in the School of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University of Chile.
In 1969 he received a doctorate in Sciences with a mention in Biology at the University of Chile, being one of the first students of this career.
His most important research work was the discovery of ion channels in cell membranes in muscle cells, which allow the entry and exit of ions of the cell, giving greater emphasis to the membranes that regulate the entry of Calcium.
In addition, to making an important discovery, it has generated a great international recognition, even was awarded the National Prize for Natural Sciences in 2002.

What I like most about the work he does in the field of Biochemistry is the important contribution that his work gives, because thanks to these research, it is possible to better understand how an organism as small as the cell, allows us to perform Our daily activities without major difficulties, besides keeping us alive.

Anime

Anime

Well, to be honest I don’t see anime or read the "mangas". The truth is that when I was child I saw several animes, but as the years passed and I started to like another type of animated series, displacing the anime.
However, I always had friends who loved the anime, and when they talked about it, always remained like "what they're talking about", including, me with another friend, who hadn’t seen them, we asked them in a good way because they talked so much about the series they saw, because when they talked about this, we just watched their expressions and listening to their conversation xD.
Besides, I don´t like to see many series, because sometimes, because of lack of time, I cannot carry the continuity of the series, and there are always people who spoilers .-. which I detest and I "disappoint" to continue watching the serie, because it isn´t  the same to live the emotion when one see the series to another person to tell me what has happened.

Finally, my boyfriend is fascinated by an anime series, Shingeki no Kyojin, and he always comments me the chapters he sees and so that i am not very "disoriented" in the conversation, he tells me what the story is about, so that I can understand a little more the situations he tells me.
